Position Description
Westforce Construction is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to work across our metro and remote projects. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role and will apply their excellent organisational skills to support our team. Strong writing and communication skills are essential. The position will be based at headquarters at Welshpool with at least 2 days on site per week with an overnight stay in mine camps.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Producing project budgeting summaries to support site team
Measuring and estimating of construction costs
Cost planning and forecast and approving all cost spend to date
Contract administration and reporting
Procurement and subcontractor payments
Review re-measured quantities and verify against drawings and actual installed quantities
Provide ongoing and timely preparation of supporting documentation for contract variations
Assist Project Manager in preparing claims for monthly valuations
Assessing project risk and cost reporting for financial institutions
Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing, and negotiating variations to designs
Estimate site instruction and contract variation
Monitoring subcontractors, construction progress and material needs, including any changes which may impact cost
Cost Control during the construction phase and closing out final accounts
Implementing and adhering to Westforce Construction management systems procedures and policies
Key support to the Project Manager through the application of knowledge, skills, tools and other administrative techniques against the project activities to meet the requirements safely and correctly
Establish and maintain supplier relationship by serving as a single point of contact for contractual matters
Provide contract related issue resolution, both internally and externally
Contribute to process improvements and provide initiatives to improve, compliment or add to current processes and procedures
Monitor and complete contract close-out, extension or renewal as appropriate
Assisting Project Manager, Estimating Manager, HSEQ Manager and Director on various tasks required
Qualifications and Requirements:
Have Minimum 5 years' experience in Quantity Surveying
Have a high attention to detail
Have excellent organisation, writing and communication skills
Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying only.
