Job Description:
On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for a DevOps Specialist to work on a Notification Services Project. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient and continuous deployment of high-quality code into production. DevOps touches deployment pipelines, infrastructure as code, and security, which are critical for reliability and scalability. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Manage containerized application deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and OpenShift.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Support secure, reliable, and repeatable deployments across development, test, and production environments.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps practices into Agile workflows.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Support workplace setup and onboarding during Sprint 0 and ongoing project phases.
• Ensure deployment pipelines align with BC Government security, compliance, and operational standards.
• Troubleshoot deployment issues and support rapid resolution of production incidents.
• Optimize deployment processes to support MVP and enterprise-scale rollouts.
• Document DevOps processes,



infrastructure designs, and operational runbooks.
• Support continuous improvement of DevOps tooling, automation, and deployment strategies.
Qualifications:
• Minimum six (3) years of recent experience in the last five (5) years as a DevOps Specialist.
• Skilled in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration especially Kubernetes, Docker, AWS and OpenShift.
• Experience managing infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep).
• Experience ensuring smooth deployments and monitoring.
