As a Solutions Engineer, you will manage the technical and product relationship during sales cycles, serving as a trusted advisor throughout the sales cycle. In this highly consultative role, you will act as a diagnostic expert who effectively bridges the gap between a prospect's technical challenges and their overarching business objectives. By blending deep technical fluency with sophisticated, persona-based storytelling, you will secure technical validation and stakeholder alignment, directly accelerating revenue growth, expanding deal sizes, and increasing sales velocity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Demonstration & Value Communication
Build and maintain highly tailored solution presentations
Deliver smart, data-driven insights and strategic recommendations that clearly link product capabilities to executive outcomes.
Utilise structured demonstration frameworks (such as "Tell-Show-Tell") to translate complex technical specs into tangible human benefits.
2. Product Knowledge & Technical Expertise
Maintain an inside-out understanding of core product features, setup, implementation nuances, and feature-to-value mapping.
Embrace modern developer productivity tools and AI-assisted workflows to optimize daily workflows.
3. RFP/Security & Documentation Management
Lead end-to-end pre-sales document workflows with minimal internal support.
Confidently navigate and manage complex RFI/RFP processes, security assessments, and technical requirements.
4. Customer Engagement & Relationship Building
Act as the technical voice and trusted advisor in high-level discussions with engineering, management, and executive stakeholders.
Demonstrate the value, technical feasibility, and long-term credibility of our platform to build lasting champion relationships.
5. Sales Process & Effectiveness
Partner closely with the Account Executive (AE) team to qualify opportunities, align on deal strategies, and handle product objections constructively.
Liaise with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure a clean, seamless handoff from pre-sales to client implementation teams for fast time-to-value.
6. Additional Initiatives
Competitive Intelligence
: Actively share industry trends and competitor points of failure to help the team successfully bypass landmines and position our core differentiators.
Enablement
: Collaborate with Product Marketing Management (PMM) to deliver concise, product education sessions to keep the sales team sharp.
Product GTM feedback
: Provide direct feedback to product development teams and assist with product Go-To-Market strategies.
Evangelisation
: Act as a brand champion by participating in industry webinars, partner events, and community building initiatives.
Skills & Experience Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in pre-sales engineering or technical services within a SaaS environment, with a track record of supporting complex enterprise clients.
Effective Communication: Superb written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently tailor narratives for different audiences—ranging from developer control to marketer agility.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: A natural team player who builds solid partnerships across Sales, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams.
Coachability & Continuous Learning: A proactive growth mindset with an eagerness to master evolving platform features and adopt updated pre-sales playbooks.
Analytical & Process Management: Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose root pains, paired with strong time management skills to respect and execute internal rules of engagement].
