Macmahon is seeking an experienced Production Superintendent to support the recommencement of operations at Mt Carlton mine. Located approximately two hours south of Townsville, Mt Carlton is a gold silver operation preparing to transition from care and maintenance back into production. This restart presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the establishment of protected, efficient and sustainable operational practices from the outset.
This position operates on a 5 days on / 2 off, followed by 4 days on / 3 off roster, DIDO Only.
About The Role
Lead by example, work, promote and manage in accordance with all established work rules, HSEQ legislation, standards, policies and procedures
Ensure manning levels and rosters are maintained, including managing rostered breaks to ensure subordinates time is allocated effectively
Implement safe work practices and champion a proactive safety culture
Identify any non-conformances to KPI's resulting from repeat contributing factors and liaise with required stakeholders to develop and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
Ensure optimum equipment productivity is achieved subject to prevailing site conditions without compromising safety
Liaise with plant department to achieve optimal standards of plant reliability and utilisation
Liaise with plant department on maintenance damage and breakdown issues
Maintain strong communication across site departments and contractors
Prepare operational reporting and contribute to budgeting and forecasting
About You
Demonstrated experience as a Superintendent, Senior Supervisor or similar within surface mining (coal or hard rock)




Strong leadership capability and the ability to build engaged, high-performing teams
Solid understanding of mine operations, production systems and mobile equipment
Proven ability to interpret mine plans and deliver against operational targets
A commitment to safety, continuous improvement and positive workplace culture
Excellent communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
Relevant mining, engineering or leadership qualifications (desirable)
Understand and manage operational costs, drivers and corrective actions
