About the Team & the Position
As part of the Digital division,
Energy Markets & Corporate Digital Systems (EMCDS)
, holds the accountability of successful management for some of AEMO's critical IT applications as well as providing key enabling services and functions to the wider Digital division. EMCDS is accountable for the management of market systems across the National Electricity Market (NEM) and Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM), retail systems across NEM, WEM and GAS as well as all corporate systems across AEMO and its Subsidiaries.
The Senior Integration Developer plays a key role in supporting existing systems and participating in projects for the technical delivery of support, defect fixes, new functionality to support AEMO Integrations. This role is a combination of new application delivery and support of our existing systems.
The incumbent will will provide timely, detailed and effective support of critical business functions inside and outside of business hours, develop and maintain key systems, and maintain close communication with internal stakeholders required to support and implement business and technical solutions.



You will join an experienced team where you will be supported and educated in the many systems AEMO runs and supports.
On call will be required one week in five approximately once you have the required detailed knowledge, dependent on the numbers of staff. All facilities for remote support will be provided with appropriate compensation.
Position Responsibilities
Adept in the maintenance and enhancement of software applications in accordance with enterprise architecture principles and the IT Strategy to support AEMO energy market operator functions
Design, development, deployment and delivery of Integration components.
Be part of a product-based team working on multiple projects.
Provide support for existing AEMO Integration Solutions.
Provide development and technical subject matter expertise to ensure development activities are aligned with scope, schedule, priority and business objectives.
Escalate issues to a development lead or Team Manager through transparent and concise communications.
Collaborate professionally and effectively with BAs, architects, developers, testers.
Good, compelling communication to a variety of stakeholders including all business users from SMEs to Senior Management
Position Requirements
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in design, development and implementing solutions in Integration Platforms - APIM, Boomi, webMethods.
Microservices/API development experience and knowledge.
Ability to work with cross-functional Teams within AEMO




Experience supporting 24x7 systems and ensuring robust highly available solutions.
Contemporary knowledge and application of IT solutions relating to design and development.
Experience in Kong would be beneficial.
Experience in RabbitMQ would be beneficial.
Demonstrated track record of implementing and supporting complex solutions, highly available systems.
Experience working in high performance team, using either Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid project management methodology.
Experience in modern source control tools and continuous build and deployment tooling, e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Bamboo
Deliver technical documents and Contribute to the developer knowledge base. Seeks continual improvement in quality and speed of delivery
Education/ professional Certifications:
Tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in an appropriate technology discipline
Recognized professional certifications or equivalent hands-on expertise in essential technologies and platforms.
