Job Summary:
The Principal Observability Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of HUB24's core systems by establishing and championing world‐class observability practices. This role blends deep expertise across systems engineering, platform operations, and tooling to enable teams to proactively detect issues, optimise performance, and build resilient platforms. Acting as the key bridge between Engineering, Support, DevOps, Network, and Product, the Principal Observability Engineer drives alignment, shapes the observability strategy, and leads the resolution of complex infrastructure challenges that directly impact system health and customer experience.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
Lead the design, development, and deployment of AIOps and observability platforms (metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerts).
Develop and drive the observability and AIOps technology roadmap aligned to business goals.
Establish organisational standards, frameworks, and best practices for observability.
System Performance & Optimisation
Partner with Engineering, Support, SRE, and DevOps teams to define and monitor key performance indicators (latency, traffic, errors, saturation).




Guide ongoing optimisation of systems and keep observability practices aligned with modern trends.
Build scalable, reliable distributed systems capable of handling high‐traffic and complex workloads.
Automation, Machine Learning & AIOps
Implement ML models for anomaly detection, forecasting, and root‐cause analysis.
Handle large volumes of telemetry data while ensuring data security, quality, and compliance.
Identify automation opportunities and build auto‐remediation for recurring issues.
Collaboration & Technical Leadership
Work closely with cross‐functional teams to understand and meet observability needs.
Provide peer reviews focused on scalability, security, performance, and software correctness.
Contribute to unified observability across cloud, network, compute, storage, OS, security, applications, and SaaS platforms.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
***** years in software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or platform operations roles.
Strong experience with observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Sumo Logic, OpenTelemetry).
Experience building and managing large‐scale observability platforms leveraging LLMs and ML.
Proven experience delivering end‐to‐end observability architectures.
Experience with monitoring cloud environments and building scalable telemetry pipelines.
Skilled in Kubernetes, Docker, Harness, and microservices‐based architectures.
Deep understanding of observability for large cloud infrastructure and networking.
Experience creating unified cloud observability across network, compute, power, OS, storage, security, applications, and SaaS.
Demonstrated use of ML and Generative AI for predictive monitoring, incident diagnosis, correlation, and summarisation.
Proficiency with AI/ML and generative/agentic AI frameworks.




Experience designing and implementing auto‐healing workflows using tools like Ansible.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all organisational levels.
Strong capability to articulate insights, analysis, and recommendations.
