Are you an experienced Workshop Manager with a background in Boilermaking, Diesel Fitting or Mobile Maintenance?

AESTEC Services is seeking a hands‐on and driven Workshop Manager to lead our team of Diesel Fitters, Boilermakers and Apprentices across a diverse range of workshop, site‐based and breakdown/call‐out work.

About the Role
As Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the day‐to‐day leadership and management of our workshop operations while supporting field‐based and breakdown activities.
This is a hands‐on leadership role requiring strong technical knowledge, excellent people skills and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service.
You will lead a team of:
Supervisors
Diesel Fitters
Boilermakers
Apprentices
The role will oversee:




Workshop maintenance and repair activities
Fabrication and boilermaking works
Mobile plant and equipment maintenance
Site‐based projects
Breakdown and call‐out services
Resource planning and scheduling
Safety, quality and operational performance
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Trade qualification as a Boilermaker, Diesel Fitter or equivalent in Mobile Maintenance
Previous experience in a Workshop Supervisor or Workshop Manager position
Demonstrated experience leading teams of tradespeople and apprentices
Strong knowledge of mobile plant, heavy equipment and/or industrial maintenance
Experience coordinating workshop and field service operations
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture
Current C Class Driver Licence
Desirable:
Experience working within the mining, industrial or construction sectors
High Risk Work Licences
Experience with estimating, job costing and resource planning
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of Supervisors, Diesel Fitters, Boilermakers and Apprentices
Coordinate workshop, site and breakdown activities to meet client requirements
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
Manage labour, materials and equipment resources
Monitor productivity, budgets and job performance
Foster a positive team culture focused on continuous improvement
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and legislative requirements
