We are currently seeking an experienced
Marine & Piling Maintenance Manager or Lead
to join our Plant Services team.
This hands-on operational leadership role will require someone with strong experience in marine fleet, piling plant, cranes, hydraulic systems, heavy equipment maintenance, workshop coordination and remote project support.
You will play a key role to ensure that Austral's specialist marine and piling assets are available, safe, compliant, reliable and properly maintained for current and upcoming requirements across the business

The Opportunity
Maintain clear visibility of fleet status, current condition, upcoming maintenance requirements, certifications, inspections and project allocation.
Own the operational readiness of assigned marine and piling plant and equipment.
Coordinate pre-mobilisation and demobilisation inspections, maintenance, repairs and documentation to ensure equipment is project-ready before deployment.




Develop and maintain preventive maintenance plans for marine and piling equipment along with planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, shutdown works
Develop and maintain preventative maintenance plans for marine and Piling equipment
Ensure marine and piling equipment inspections, surveys, certifications and statutory compliance requirements are identified, scheduled, completed, and recorded.
Coordinate with HSE, Engineering, surveyors, OEMs and external specialists to ensure equipment is fit for purpose and compliant.
Attend site as required to support major breakdowns, critical mobilisation activities, commissioning, demobilisation, and lessons learned.
Lead and coordinate field maintenance personnel supporting the marine and piling fleet.
Prepare or contribute to plant utilisation reports, fleet schedules, maintenance forecasts, and cost information.
Use company ERP / maintenance / fleet systems to manage work orders, maintenance history, defects, and scheduled servicing.
Position requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Mechanical trade qualification or equivalent heavy equipment/marine maintenance background.
Extensive experience in marine fleet, piling equipment, crane, heavy plant or construction equipment maintenance.




Demonstrated experience managing maintenance activities for specialist equipment in construction, marine, resources, ports, mining, or infrastructure environments.
Robust working knowledge of hydraulic systems, mechanical diagnostics, heavy equipment repairs and defect management.
Experience coordinating workshop and field maintenance teams.
Experience managing external suppliers, OEMs and specialist contractors.
Strong understanding of inspection, compliance and certification requirements for plant and equipment.
Ability to plan and prioritise maintenance across multiple projects and competing operational demands.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with project teams, superintendents, engineers, HSE and senior managers.
Competence using Microsoft Office and maintenance/fleet/ERP systems.
Willingness to travel to remote projects and support critical breakdowns or mobilisation activities when required.
Perth/WA based or willing to relocate.
