We deliver high-quality plasma, oxy and bevel cutting, drilling, tapping and milling services, backed by a skilled, dedicated team.
2 week Rotating shift 4 days on 4 days off, 4 nights on 4 nights off

The Role
The Plasma Trade Assistant provides operational support to Plasma Operators by assisting with the safe and efficient loading and unloading of steel plates onto plasma cutting beds using overhead crane systems, as well as the removal and handling of finished products.
This role contributes to the achievement of production targets through effective material handling, assistance with basic machine operations, completion of quality checks, and the performance of general workshop duties.
The position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with company procedures, WHS requirements, and operational standards.
The Plasma Trade Assistant reports to the Leading Hand and works collaboratively with the Plasma team at the Forrestfield facility to support efficient workflow and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with locating materials, loading and unloading of raw Steel materials and finished products.
Chipping and grinding of Parts.
Inspecting raw materials and finished products to ensure quality and accuracy in line with established quality control procedures
Supporting plasma Operator, identifying issues or malfunctions and escalating where required.
Maintaining a clean, organised,



and safe work environment at all times.
Complying with all organisational policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Demonstrating a strong duty of care to ensure the health and safety of yourself and others in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act ****.
Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and reporting any concerns or issues.
Promptly reporting hazards, incidents, injuries, or illnesses to the Plasma Foreperson.
Actively participating in safety initiatives, meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks.
Undertaking other tasks as directed to support the overall goals and success of the organisation

Forklift licence (essential)
Current driver's licence (essential)
Experience & Skills
Trade Assistant experience within a similar manufacturing or workshop environment (essential)
Overhead crane experience (essential)
Overhead Magnet system experience (Desirable)
