Role Description This is a full-time, in office Software Engineer role based in Canberra.
The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain core platform components that power real-time cyber simulations and performance evaluation systems.
Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing back-end services and APIs, writing clean and maintainable code, performing code reviews, and collaborating with product, security, and data teams to deliver new features.
The role involves optimizing system performance, ensuring reliability and scalability, integrating new scenarios and training modules, and contributing to technical documentation and testing.
The Software Engineer will also help improve development practices,



participate in architecture discussions, and support troubleshooting and incident resolution as needed.QualificationsStrong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in building production-grade applications.Hands-on experience with Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and related design patterns.Experience with secure coding practices and an interest in cybersecurity or cyber operations is highly beneficial.Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
