Velora Care is a growing, nurse-led community care provider supporting older Australians to remain safe, independent and well cared for in their own homes.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse to join our growing team as our Clinical Nurse Manager.
This is a key leadership position for an experienced community nurse who is ready to take the next step in their career and play an important role in shaping the clinical direction of a growing organisation.
Working closely with the Director, the Clinical Nurse Manager will provide clinical leadership and oversight across Velora Care's growing client base and care team.
The role will combine clinical expertise, staff leadership, care coordination and clinical governance, with a strong focus on delivering protected, high-quality, person-centred care in the community.
This role will suit an experienced Registered Nurse who has strong community nursing experience, excellent clinical skills and previous management or clinical leadership experience.
You will be confident working autonomously, making sound clinical decisions and supporting a team of care workers to deliver safe and effective care.
Key responsibilities
Provide clinical leadership and oversight across Velora Care's community-based client services.
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop, review and monitor individualised care plans.
Provide clinical support and guidance to care workers and other team members.
Provide oversight and clinical management of complex care needs.
Undertake wound assessments and wound management, including monitoring healing and coordinating appropriate treatment.
Provide assessment and management of urinary catheters and other common clinical needs within the community setting.
Identify changes in clients' health status and escalate concerns appropriately to GPs, specialists, hospitals and other healthcare professionals.
Liaise with clients, families, GPs, allied health professionals and external service providers to ensure coordinated care.
Provide clinical guidance, education and mentoring to staff.
Support staff with clinical decision-making and escalation of health concerns.
Review clinical documentation and ensure appropriate standards of care are maintained.
Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, risk management and compliance activities.
Support the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures and systems.
Participate in incident reviews, clinical audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist with the onboarding, orientation and competency development of new staff.
Support the Director with the ongoing development and growth of Velora Care's clinical services.
About you
You will be an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about community nursing and providing high-quality care to older Australians.
You will have:
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
Significant experience working in community nursing – essential.
Previous management, team leadership or clinical leadership experience – essential.
Strong experience in wound assessment and wound management.
Experience and confidence with urinary catheter care and management.
Experience working with older people and/or within the aged care sector.
Strong clinical assessment, care planning and documentation skills.
The ability to work autonomously and confidently make clinical decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting care staff.
The ability to build strong relationships with clients, families and healthcare professionals.
A sound understanding of clinical governance, quality and risk management.
A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
