Project Geologist - Exploration
Location - Western Australia
Salary - $140k to $170k + super
About the Company
We are currently partnering with mid-tier mining contractors delivering exploration programs across multiple gold operations throughout Western Australia.
Due to continued project growth, we are seeking experienced Project Geologists to join high-performing exploration teams working across resource definition, near-mine and regional exploration programs.
These roles offer exposure to active drilling campaigns, technically challenging projects and the opportunity to contribute to resource growth and new discoveries.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Exploration Superintendent, the Project Geologist will play a key role in the planning, execution and interpretation of exploration programs across multiple deposits and project areas.
The role combines drilling program management, geological interpretation, target generation and resource growth activities, supporting both near-mine and regional exploration objectives.
Working within a highly active exploration environment, you will contribute directly to discovery-focused programs while helping advance projects through resource definition and development stages.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, supervise and execute RC, Diamond and Aircore drilling programs.
Manage day-to-day exploration activities across multiple prospects and drilling campaigns.
Conduct geological, structural and alteration logging of drill core and chip samples.
Coordinate drillhole planning, collar design and program execution.
Interpret geological, geochemical and geophysical datasets to support exploration targeting.
Generate and evaluate exploration targets for resource growth and discovery programs.
Support near-mine exploration, resource definition and extensional drilling initiatives.
Produce geological interpretations, cross-sections, plans and target reviews.
Monitor drilling productivity, contractor performance and exploration budgets.
Manage sampling procedures,



QA/QC protocols and data collection standards.
Maintain geological databases and ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
Prepare technical reports, exploration updates and recommendations for management.
Liaise with drilling contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.
Conduct field mapping, target generation and prospect evaluation activities.
Contribute to geological modelling, resource interpretation and project advancement studies.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Exploration Geologists, Graduate Geologists and Field Technicians.
Participate in field inspections, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure all exploration activities are conducted in accordance with company safety, environmental and heritage standards.
Key Skills & Experience
Degree qualification in Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience within gold exploration environments.
Proven experience managing RC and Diamond drilling programs.
Strong geological interpretation and target generation capability.
Sound understanding of gold mineralisation systems and structural geology.
Experience supporting resource definition, extensional drilling and resource growth programs.
Proficiency with geological modelling software and exploration databases.
Robust QA/QC, data management and reporting skills.
Ability to manage multiple exploration workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Solid commitment to safety, teamwork and operational excellence.
