Air Quality Engineering Scientist - *********)The Air Quality Engineering Scientist performs unique analyses, calculations, and skilled functions essential to the implementation of the air quality program in the state of Montana.
Responsibilities include: Review to determine, prescribe, and assess the design and implementation of structures, devices, systems and processes meet air pollution compliance and control regulations; Analysis to determine whether facilities, equipment and industrial processes are constructed and operated in compliance with air quality rules and permit requirements; Review and implementation of state and federal statutes, rules, and policies; and Acting as a liaison for the Department to the public and industry on air quality matters; and conduct field inspections at a variety of industrial sites.About the AgencyAt the Department of Environmental Quality, our ultimate goal is to champion a healthy environment for a thriving Montana.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, particularly environmental engineering or a closely related field of engineering preferred.Two years of job-related experience in environmental engineering design and compliance,
or in a related engineering profession preferred.Additional degrees preferred: Biology, Chemistry, Atmospheric Science, or related field in Science.Training AssignmentThis agency may use a training assignment.
Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules.
