Personal Trainer – Odyssey Lifestyle Care Communities (Chevron Island)

Odyssey Lifestyle Care Communities is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced
Personal Trainer
to join our vibrant team at our premium Chevron Island community on the Gold Coast.
This is a unique opportunity to work with older persons who are committed to maintaining their health, independence and quality of life in a supportive, community-focused environment.
About the Role
As our Personal Trainer, you will work closely with residents to deliver safe, engaging and personalised fitness programs that promote strength, balance, mobility and overall wellbeing.
You will build meaningful relationships with residents while helping them achieve their individual health and fitness goals through both
one-on-one personal training and small group fitness sessions
.
Our purpose-built wellness centre features industry-leading
HUR pneumatic strength training equipment
, designed specifically to support safe and effective exercise for older adults.
You'll also have access to our
heated indoor swimming pool
, providing opportunities to deliver low-impact aquatic exercise classes that enhance strength, flexibility, balance and confidence.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with our
Allied Health Professionals, Lifestyle Team and Wellness Team
to support residents in achieving the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes.
About You
You are passionate about improving the lives of older people and understand that every resident has different goals and abilities.
You will ideally have:
Certificate III and/or IV in Fitness (or equivalent)
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Experience working with older adults, seniors or rehabilitation clients
A genuine, caring and encouraging approach
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to motivate and inspire people of all fitness levels
Knowledge or experience using
HUR fitness equipment
(highly regarded, but not essential)
Experience delivering group fitness and/or aquatic exercise classes (highly regarded)
The ability to work collaboratively with Allied Health and other clinical professionals
A current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one before commencement)
What You'll Do
Conduct individual fitness assessments
Develop personalised exercise programs
Deliver one-on-one personal training sessions
Plan and facilitate engaging
group fitness classes
tailored to older persons, focusing on strength, balance, flexibility and mobility
Deliver safe and enjoyable
aquatic exercise classes
in our heated indoor pool
Assist residents to safely use HUR gym equipment
Work alongside Allied Health Professionals to support resident goals and rehabilitation programs where appropriate
Encourage participation and build confidence in exercise
Promote a positive, welcoming and inclusive gym workplace
Maintain accurate records and communicate resident progress with the broader care team as required
