About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team based in Surfers Paradise.
This is a full-time position offering excellent career progression opportunities within our growing organisation.
The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen, a background in funds management or mortgage lending, and familiarity with the financial and regulatory environment under which AFSL holders operate.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and reporting.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, ASIC requirements, and internal policies.
Perform and review key regulatory calculations, including NTA and other AFSL-related reporting obligations.
Manage and mentor finance staff,



fostering professional development and team efficiency.
Analyse financial data to identify trends and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
Implement and maintain robust financial controls and systems.
Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
What We're Looking For
Minimum 5+ years' experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance professional.
Experience in a mortgage fund, managed investment scheme, or similar funds management environment is highly regarded.
CPA or CA qualification preferred, with strong technical accounting and compliance skills.
Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis.
Working knowledge of AFSL compliance, ASIC regulatory requirements, and associated reporting standards.
High proficiency in financial management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
