Northern Grampians Shire Council is seeking an outstanding Manager Governance to lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team responsible for governance, risk, records, property management, insurance, civic support and statutory compliance.

About the roleReporting to the Director Corporate Services, you'll lead a broad and dynamic portfolio that sits at the heart of Council.You'll provide strategic leadership across:Governance and legislative complianceCouncil and committee meeting governanceCouncillor support and advisory servicesEnterprise risk managementFreedom of Information and PrivacyRecords and information managementInsurance and claims managementProperty managementCemetery Trust administrationCivic and executive supportThis is a highly influential leadership role where you'll provide trusted advice to the Executive Leadership Team and Councillors while ensuring Council operates with transparency, integrity and accountability.
About youWe're looking for a confident,



collaborative leader who thrives in complex environments and enjoys building strong relationships.You'll bring:Significant leadership experience in governance, compliance, risk, local government or a similarly regulated environmentExperience leading multidisciplinary teams and developing high-performing peopleStrong knowledge of governance frameworks, legislation and statutory obligationsOutstanding communication and relationship management skillsThe ability to provide strategic advice while remaining hands-on when requiredExperience working in politically sensitive environments and partnering with senior stakeholdersA continuous improvement mindset with the ability to modernise systems and processesA qualification in governance, law, business, public administration or a related discipline is desirable; however, we value demonstrated experience and leadership just as highly.
