The Straightening Salon is Australia's specialist hair straightening brand.
With locations across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and Sydney, we've built our reputation on technical expertise, exceptional client experiences, and helping women achieve healthy, manageable hair they feel confident in.
Unlike traditional hair salons, we specialise exclusively in hair straightening and smoothing treatments.
Our focused approach has allowed us to build a trusted brand, a loyal client base, and a team of highly skilled specialists who are passionate about delivering exceptional results.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced leader who can help develop our people, strengthen our operations, and help shape the future of our business.
The Opportunity
Our business has reached an exciting stage of growth, and we've outgrown our current fractional General Manager model.
We're now looking for a full-time General Manager to join our leadership team and help shape the next chapter of The Straightening Salon.
This is a genuine leadership opportunity where you'll lead our multi-site operations, develop and mentor our Salon Managers, and build the structure, systems, and capability needed to support our continued growth.
Working closely with the Directors, you'll play a key role in shaping strategy, driving business performance, and creating alignment across our locations.
You'll have the opportunity to influence how we grow, strengthen our leadership team, and build a business positioned for long-term success.
To support your transition, our current fractional General Manager will guide your onboarding, providing business knowledge, context, and support as you embed into the organisation.
You'll also receive ongoing leadership coaching and professional development, ensuring you have the support to succeed while making a meaningful impact on the future of the business.
What You'll Be Responsible For
As our General Manager, you will lead our multi-site business through its next stage of growth.
Working alongside the Directors, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership across our locations, ensuring our people, systems, and commercial performance continue to evolve as we scale.
Success in this role will be measured by the strength of our leaders, the consistency of our operations, the performance of our locations, and your ability to help build a business ready for its next stage of growth.
Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop our Salon Managers,



building a high-performing leadership team.
Create a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement across the business.
Coach and challenge leaders to achieve stronger commercial outcomes, build engaged teams, and deliver exceptional client experiences.
Build leadership capability and succession pathways that support the future growth of the business.
Strategy & Business Growth
Partner with the Directors to shape and execute the strategic direction of the business.
Lead key business initiatives that improve performance, strengthen operations, and support future expansion.
Identify opportunities for innovation, growth, and continuous improvement across all areas of the business.
Ensure the business has the structure, capability, and leadership required to scale successfully.
Commercial Performance
Take ownership of the operational and commercial performance of the business.
Drive revenue growth, profitability, productivity, and operational efficiency across all locations.
Use business insights, financial performance, and operational data to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Establish clear performance expectations and ensure leaders are accountable for delivering results.
Operational Excellence
Develop systems, processes, and operational frameworks that create consistency and support long-term growth.
Ensure every location delivers an exceptional client experience while maintaining the standards and reputation of The Straightening Salon.
Strengthen communication, collaboration, and accountability across the leadership team and the wider business.
Lead organisational change, ensuring new initiatives are successfully implemented and embedded.
People & Culture
Champion a high-performance culture built on trust, accountability, development, and continuous learning.
Partner with leaders to attract, develop, and retain exceptional people.
Foster an setting where leaders feel supported, challenged, and empowered to achieve their full potential.

What You'll Bring




You're an experienced senior leader who understands that successful businesses are built through great people, strong leadership, and clear strategy.
You may currently be a General Manager, Regional Manager, Operations Manager, or hold a similar senior leadership role within a multi-site business.
You'll bring:
Experience leading managers and high-performing teams across multiple locations.
A proven ability to coach, develop, and grow leaders.
Strong commercial acumen and confidence making decisions that drive business performance.
Experience improving operations, implementing change, and building scalable systems.
The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership and execution.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build trust, influence others, and create accountability.
Experience within larger-scale businesses, structured corporate environments, or growth-focused organisations will be highly regarded.
