Role Description The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will support Occupational Therapists in delivering client-centered services in home and community settings.
This part-time, hybrid role is based in Perth, WA, with a combination of on-site visits and some work-from-home tasks such as documentation and telehealth support.
Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with functional assessments, implementing intervention and daily living programs, and supporting clients to achieve therapy goals in their own environments.
The COTA will help adapt home environments, facilitate use of assistive equipment, and provide education to clients, families, and support workers.




The role also includes maintaining accurate clinical records, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, and contributing to continuous improvement of therapy programs.
Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Occupational Therapy support and intervention implementation, working under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist.Min 2 years of experience in direct Patient Care, including assisting with activities of daily living, functional training, and client education.Ability to contribute to Program Development for home-based and community-focused interventions, tailored to individual goals.Competence in safety assessments, environmental modifications, and coordination with families and support workers.Relevant qualification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (or equivalent) and current registration/authority to practice as required in WA.Knowledge of NDIS, community care, and person-centered, strengths-based approaches.Robust communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills, with ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.Valid driver's license, reliable transport for community visits, and willingness to travel within the Perth metropolitan area.Experience in disability, paediatric (8+ years old), mental health or community health settings is highly desirable.
