MyGP Hub | Tamworth, NSW
MyGP Hub is seeking an experienced medical receptionist or medical administration qualified to join our team across our two Tamworth practices.
This position is intended for someone with demonstrated, recent medical-practice experience who can confidently manage reception, patient administration and billing responsibilities with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
We operate between
8:00 am and 8:00 pm, Monday to Sunday
, across
The Hub in West Tamworth
and
MyGP Hub at Tamworth Square
.
About the role
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting general practitioners, nurses, allied-health professionals and visiting specialists.
Our core systems are:
Best Practice Premier
HotDoc
Tyro
You will be expected to work independently within established procedures, identify when escalation is required and contribute to the accuracy and reliability of our administration systems.
Key responsibilities
The role includes:
Managing patient arrivals, departures and appointment enquiries
Answering busy incoming telephone lines promptly and professionally
Managing complex bookings, cancellations and online appointments
Maintaining accurate patient demographics and records in Best Practice Premier
Managing HotDoc bookings, communications and patient requests
Processing EFTPOS payments and Medicare claims through Tyro
Processing Medicare, private, WorkCover and other patient accounts
Identifying and appropriately escalating rejected or incorrect claims
Managing referrals, correspondence, record requests and administrative tasks
Supporting doctors, nurses and visiting healthcare providers
Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality
Responding professionally to complaints or distressed patients
Completing opening, closing and daily reception responsibilities
Communicating clear handovers and following outstanding matters through to completion




Supporting less-experienced administration team members when required
Working across both MyGP Hub locations
Essential experience and capabilities
Applicants must have:
Demonstrated experience in medical reception or medical-practice administration
A practical understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality
Experience managing appointments, telephone calls and competing priorities
Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills
Confidence processing patient accounts and payments
An understanding of professional boundaries and when clinical matters must be escalated
The ability to follow established procedures while using sound judgement
A reliable, accountable and team-focused approach
The ability to work across both Tamworth locations
Experience with
Best Practice Premier
is strongly preferred.
Experience with
HotDoc, Tyro, Medicare billing, WorkCover accounts, medical terminology or medical-record administration
will be highly regarded.
Hours and availability
Casual shifts may be rostered between
8:00 am and 8:00 pm, Monday to Sunday
.
Applicants should be available for a reasonable mix of:
Weekday shifts
Evening shifts
Saturday and Sunday shifts
Applicants are not expected to be available for every operating hour.
However, evening and weekend availability will be an important consideration.
Employment conditions
All successful applicants will:
Commence employment on a casual basis
Complete an initial probationary and performance review period
Be paid according to their applicable classification under the
Health Professionals and Support Services Award **** (Health Services Award)
