About the role
We are seeking an
HR Support Officer
to join our Human Resources team on a
part-time basis
in
Palmerston, NT ****
.
This role is fundamental to supporting the efficient operation of our HR department and ensuring that our people-focused initiatives are effectively implemented across the organisation.
As an HR Support Officer, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to the HR team, contributing to the development and maintenance of our human resources processes and policies.
This position offers the opportunity to work within a culturally significant organisation whilst supporting meaningful work in community housing and development.
Key responsibilities
Providing administrative support to the HR department, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence and maintaining HR records
Assisting with the recruitment process, including posting job advertisements, screening applications and coordinating interviews
Maintaining and updating employee records, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete and confidential
Processing HR-related paperwork such as employment contracts, leave applications and policy acknowledgements




Supporting the coordination and administration of induction and onboarding programmes for new employees
Assisting with the maintenance of HR policies and procedures documentation
Providing general administrative support to HR staff and management, including data entry and report preparation
Supporting HR initiatives and projects as required, including employee engagement and professional development activities
Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant privacy and employment legislation in all HR matters
What we're looking for
A high school diploma or equivalent qualification, with further qualifications in HR, business administration or a related field being advantageous
Proven experience in an HR administrative or support role, or equivalent experience in a similar administrative position
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff at all levels
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and email systems
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling sensitive HR information




Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Familiarity with HR systems and databases, with the capacity to quickly learn recent software
A commitment to Aboriginal employment principles and culturally respectful practice
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and support colleagues effectively
Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
