Placed.au is looking for a full-time Welder (First Class) for our client in Woodville North, South Australia.
This role is responsible for fabricating, welding, and repairing metal components for agricultural machinery while ensuring high standards of workmanship, quality, precision, and workplace safety.
Job Description
Fabricate and weld various components for agricultural machines.
Follow engineering drawings and specifications precisely to ensure the accurate assembly of parts.
Operate a range of welding equipment to join metal parts and structures effectively.
Interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints to determine the layout and assembly of fabricated parts.
Ensure fabricated components meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards outlined in engineering drawings.
Conduct welding repairs and modifications as required to rectify defects or improve fabricated components.
Perform thorough quality inspections of fabricated parts to identify defects, imperfections, or irregularities.
Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures and safe operating practices to minimise workplace hazards and risks.
Collaborate closely with the engineering team to communicate fabrication challenges, technical issues, and design improvements.
Provide valuable feedback and recommendations to support continuous improvement of fabrication processes and product quality.
Qualifications / Attributes
Must hold a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Welding) or another relevant Certificate III, or at least three (3) years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
Must possess at least one (1) year of relevant work experience as a Welder (First Class), Fabrication Welder, or in a similar welding role.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Proficient in operating welding equipment and fabrication tools safely and efficiently.
Strong understanding of welding techniques, fabrication processes, and quality assurance standards.
High attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality fabrication work.
Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures within a manufacturing or fabrication workplace.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify defects and recommend practical solutions.
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining high standards of workmanship and continuous improvement.
Salary Range $75,000 – $90,000 per annum excluding superannuation.
