The Casual Chef supports the delivery of high-quality catering services across a range of events, including corporate functions, private events, and large-scale catering operations.
This role requires flexibility, strong food preparation skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of food safety and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and present food to a high standard in line with menus and client requirements
Assist with menu execution for events of varying size and complexity
Ensure all food preparation complies with food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
Assist with stock rotation, food storage, and basic inventory management
Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to meet service timelines
Support event setup and pack-down as required
Adapt to changing work locations, event schedules, and service demands
Skills and Experience
Proven experience working as a chef in catering, hospitality, or commercial kitchen environments




Sound knowledge of food safety standards and safe food handling practices
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Qualifications
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience)
Current Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
