About the Role
As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Head Chef to lead daily kitchen operations, drive consistency across all services, and support the continued growth of the venue's food offering.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment that caters to a busy restaurant, functions, events, and premium dining experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the Head Chef in leading and developing a high-performing kitchen team
Ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality food across restaurant, functions, and event services
Leading kitchen operations and service periods in the Head Chef's absence
Support in managing stock control, ordering, rostering, and minimising wastage
Training, mentoring, and inspiring junior chefs and kitchen team members
Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards at all times
Assisting with menu development, seasonal offerings, and continuous improvement initiatives
Driving a positive, professional, and team-focused kitchen culture in a high-volume environment
About You
You're an experienced and capable chef who enjoys leading from the front and setting high standards.

We're looking for someone with:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or experienced Junior Sous Chef in a high-volume venue
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a kitchen team
Excellent technical cooking skills and attention to detail
Experience delivering quality food across à la carte, functions, and events
Robust understanding of food safety, kitchen systems, and operational planning
Ability to perform under pressure in a busy and demanding kitchen environment
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to leadership
Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster including nights, weekends, and public holidays
