We're looking for an experienced
Event Manager – Markets
to take ownership of an established portfolio of weekly and seasonal markets across Perth — someone who can operate with autonomy, bring sound judgement to a live-event environment, and build lasting relationships across a large and diverse vendor network.
About the role
Reporting to the Event Director, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the market portfolio — from vendor curation, planning and administration through to onsite delivery and post-event reporting.
This role balances strategic and administrative work from home with hands-on presence onsite, including evenings, weekends and late nights during market seasons.
It suits someone with the experience to manage complexity calmly and the credibility to be the clear point of authority onsite.
Key responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and deliver KINN & Co's weekly, seasonal and special market events.
Manage the end-to-end vendor lifecycle: applications, selection, curation, onboarding, site allocation and ongoing relationship management.
Build and maintain relationships with a large, culturally diverse network of vendors and stakeholders.
Curate a high-quality, balanced mix of food, beverage, retail and community vendors for each market.
Develop and maintain event plans, production schedules, site plans and operational documentation.
Coordinate infrastructure, equipment, contractors, security, cleaning, waste and traffic management.
Manage vendor attendance, site positioning, bump-in/bump-out and trading requirements on a weekly basis.
Conduct site inspections and oversee onsite setup, delivery and pack-down.




Act as the senior operational point of contact onsite, resolving vendor, patron, contractor and operational issues with confidence.
Oversee risk management plans, permits, emergency procedures and compliance documentation.
Ensure vendors and contractors meet insurance, licensing, food safety and regulatory requirements.
Monitor event expenditure and support invoicing and fee administration.
Coordinate entertainment, activations and community programming where required.
Work with the marketing team on event information, vendor content and programming updates.
Monitor event quality, presentation and customer experience, and report on performance to identify improvements.
Prepare stakeholder reports, seasonal reviews and post-event evaluations.
Support the broader team across other events and projects as required.
About you
We're looking for someone with genuine depth of experience in live events — not just someone who can execute a plan, but someone who brings judgement, authority and composure to a complex operating environment.
You will:
Have a strong track record managing markets, festivals or public events at scale.
Communicate with authority and warmth, and build trust quickly across a diverse vendor and stakeholder base.
Be as comfortable onsite, after dark, managing live issues as you are behind a desk producing a detailed event plan.
Bring sharp attention to detail and the experience to anticipate problems before they surface.
Stay composed and solution-focused under pressure, drawing on experience rather than instinct alone.




Take full ownership of your area — following through on commitments without needing oversight.
Work productively and autonomously from home, while remaining a connected, contributing member of a small team.
Understand and accept that live events run outside standard office hours, and be genuinely available for regular weekend, evening and late-night work through market seasons.
Skills and experience
Substantial experience managing markets, festivals, public events or comparable live-event environments.
Robust operational planning and onsite delivery experience, ideally at a senior or lead level.
Proven experience managing vendors, contractors, suppliers and stakeholder relationships.
Excellent organisational skills and strong written and verbal communication.
Solid understanding of event safety, risk management, permits and regulatory compliance.
Confidence managing budgets, schedules, administration systems and operational documentation.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small, close-knit team.
Current driver's licence and ability to travel between event locations.
Current First Aid certification
Experience working with local government, culturally diverse vendor communities, food businesses or large public markets will be highly regarded.
