Through the 'wholechild' approach, the Psychologist / Mental Health Practitioner works as an integral part of the College's Community Team to support ongoing development in psycho-social skills, mental health, wellbeing and learning.
The Psychologist / Mental Health Practitioner also supports the management of students with emotional and behavioural challenges.
In this context, the Psychologist / Mental Health Practitioner contributes to student wellbeing and education by supporting the Heads of Community in program design and delivery across the College.
The Psychologist / Mental Health Practitioner identifies, supports and refers for further treatment young people who struggle with mental health and related school/family issues.
This role includes supporting teaching staff in the management of these students.
Working closely with those involved in student, staff and school community wellbeing both within the school and in the wider community.
The Psychologist / Mental Health Practitioner is expected to have a strong understanding of adolescent mental health and be able to work with families to support the mental health and wellbeing of students in our care.
You will support the provision of a child-protected environment and expected to be familiar with, and comply with, the school's Child Safe Policy, Code of Conduct and any other policies or procedures relating to Child Safety.
The Psychologist / Mental Health Practitioner must hold appropriate professional qualifications and maintain membership of a relevant professional body.
This is a full time, fixed term opportunity, commencing Friday 1 January **** concluding Friday 31 December ****
