Aspirante is partnering with the Queensland Department of Education to appoint an experienced Project Manager for its Portfolio and Financial Management Improvement Program.
The Infrastructure Services Division oversees approximately $2 billion in annual investment across a $40 billion asset base.
This role will lead the Portfolio Management Improvement Project, introducing and embedding new project lifecycle, governance, assurance and portfolio prioritisation frameworks to strengthen organisational maturity and delivery capability.
Key Responsibilities Lead the Portfolio Management Improvement Project from planning through to implementation.
Manage integrated schedules, milestones, priorities, dependencies and critical-path activities.
Develop and embed project lifecycle, governance, assurance and portfolio prioritisation frameworks.
Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate business, project and executive stakeholders.
Manage risks, issues, resources, dependencies and change impacts.
Prepare project briefs, delivery plans, governance artefacts and executive reporting.
Support organisational change, capability uplift and the adoption of new ways of working.
About You
You will have demonstrated experience delivering complex transformation or business-change projects that improve organisational maturity and introduce new frameworks, governance practices or delivery approaches.
Experience in an asset-intensive environment such as infrastructure, construction, engineering, utilities, transport or asset management will be highly regarded.
You will also demonstrate:
Strong end-to-end project management capability in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing competing priorities.
Highly developed stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
Experience implementing project, governance, assurance or change-management frameworks.
The ability to work through ambiguity and provide structure, clarity and delivery momentum.
Proficiency with Microsoft project and workflow management tools.
A team-oriented and people-centred approach to transformation and change.
PRINCE2, Agile or other project management certifications are desirable.
Qualifications or significant experience in project management, engineering, construction or a related discipline would also be advantageous.
