We have outstanding opportunity for an experienced Telecommunications Technologist to join and bring their expertise, integrity, and a positive can-do attitude to our dedicated team of professionals.
Position Overview
The Telecommunications Technologist is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems and networks.
This position ensures the reliable operation of voice, data, and video communications across the organisation, supporting both internal and external connectivity requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment and systems, including routers, switches, fiber optic cables, PBX, VoIP, and wireless technologies Installing routers, switches,



fiber optic cables, and telephone systems Monitor and optimise the performance of telecommunications networks and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime
Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate telecommunications solutions that meet business needs Conduct tests and measurements on telecommunications equipment and networks Conduct regular system upgrades and apply security protocols to safeguard communications infrastructure and ensuring compliance with safety standards
Provide technical support and training to end-users regarding telecommunications equipment and services Document system configurations, network diagrams, maintenance repairs, and procedures for ongoing reference and compliance Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices
Key Selection Criteria Relevant tertiary qualifications in telecommunications, information technology, or a related field Proven experience in managing and maintaining telecommunications networks and systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach Knowledge of Australian telecommunications standards and regulatory requirements
Desirable Attributes Experience with cloud-based communications platforms Ability to work independently and as part of a team
