About the role
We are seeking an experienced and organised Barista to join the Rubra Artisan Roasters team in our O'Connor, warehouse.
This is a full-time role that will involve providing a great barista coffee experience to our warehouse cafe, processing sales daily, packing orders and supporting the retail ordering system.
What you'll be doing
Making high-quality coffee at a consistently fast pace
Cash handling and POS operation
Customer service to our loyal customers
Exceptional organisation within the café + warehouse
Sound product knowledge on our retail range to our customers, recommending according to their requests
Helping staff with other work loads, and general warehouse duties
Basic warehouse exposure or equivalent experience is required to assist with warehouse operations
Packing orders in the warehouse
Checking inventory in the warehouse cafe and managing our retail displays
Checking product inventory on the warehouse shelves and feeding back to the production team
Providing support to the management team
Assisting with special projects and other duties as required
What we're looking for
A high level of barista skills with a minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a busy cafe environment with high volumes.
A complete understanding of grind, dose, and other variables that affect extraction rate, and the ability to adjust these to ensure a correct and balanced extraction at all times
The ability to pour clean and beautiful latte art (we can teach you or refine your skills if needed!)
A passion for making,
drinking and promoting our high-quality coffee and tea products, with a positive knowledge of the industry and the desire to learn more
Able to perform under pressure
Attention to detail and adaptability
Customer service experience
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
Current drivers licence
Great team player, with a love of coffee and tea!
Australian work rights are required for this position
