What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the Administrative Officer role within the Security Department is to provide essential administrative and clerical support that ensures the efficient operation of security services across the Westmead Precinct.
This role contributes directly to service needs by managing key security systems, such as the Integriti ID Card/Access Control System and ProMaster Key Manager, maintaining accurate staff rosters, and ensuring compliance with security certifications and audits.
By handling these critical tasks, the Administrative Officer enables the Security Operations Manager and the broader security team to focus on operational duties, ensuring staff and visitor safety is upheld.
Additionally, the Administrative Officer plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service to all WSLHD staff, visitors, and stakeholders.
Acting as a central point of contact for security-related inquiries, the position ensures that services such as ID card issuance,



key management, and lost property handling are completed efficiently.
This enhances the overall security experience for the hospital community, contributing to a safer and more organized environment across the precinct.

Selection Criteria:
Previous Administrative Experience: Demonstrated experience in performing key administrative duties, including managing records, scheduling, and providing clerical support in a busy environment.
Competence in Microsoft Office Suite: Proven ability to effectively use MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook to prepare documents, manage communications, and maintain records.
Experience with Access Control Systems: Previous experience in administering Access Control systems, including the creation and issuance of Security ID cards, ensuring proper access levels.
Customer Service and Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality customer service with strong verbal and written communication skills, ensuring positive interactions with staff and visitors.
Ability to Work Independently: Proven capacity to work with minimal supervision, using initiative to prioritize tasks and solve problems effectively.
Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients,



colleagues, and external stakeholders in a qualified setting.
Time Management and Organizational Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and ensure accuracy in all tasks.
Attention to Detail: Proven attention to detail in managing administrative duties, such as maintaining records, managing sensitive information, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
