Position
Profile: The Director Finance Accounting & Reporting is
responsible for transactional Finance functions within WACHS: Fixed
Assets, General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
The role is also responsible for Treasury, Statutory Reporting, Tax
and Policy functions.
This position ensures the consistent
application of financial policies, financial reporting practices
and overall service delivery, across the WACHS
organisation.
This position will promote and
drive continuous improvement in service delivery and ultimately
WACHS' financial performance.
Area
Profile: The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the
largest country health system in Australia and one of
the biggest in the world, providing health services to
approximately half a million people, including
45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million
square kilometre area.
The organisation comprises seven
regions, with a robust network of public hospitals, health services
and health centres located across rural and remote Western
Australia.
Our core business is the provision of quality,
accessible health services to country WA residents and
visitors.
Suitability
Criteria:
Suitability recognises that a
range of factors contribute to merit, including skills, knowledge,
abilities, behaviours, ethical alignment and relevant operational
requirements.
The suitability requirements below are derived from
the Job Description Form and define what will be assessed to
determine your suitability for the role:
Tertiary qualification in
Accounting, Finance, Economics or statistics or extensive
experience deemed equivalent.
Extensive experience in
the delivery of financial services in a large and complex
organisation.
Including undertaking Cash Flow and Statutory
Reporting functions.
Proven experience in
leading and managing various teams; both centrally located and
across multiple sites.
Proven experience in
preparation of Statutory Financial Reports.
Highly developed
interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills and a
demonstrated ability to influence people in the achievement of
objectives.
This includes the ability to provide contextually
appropriate, objective, and impartial advice.
Demonstrated ability in
implementing and managing change; with a focus on fostering a
culture of continuous improvement and development.
Highly developed
analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills with a proven
ability to provide effective solutions to complex issues in a
contemporary financial management context.
Current knowledge of
legislative and regulatory requirements in the areas of Equal
