Are you looking to get involved by volunteering with a local community focused not-for-profit? Join a friendly and welcoming team made of volunteers and staff at Smile-A-Mile Toy Library. We are a registered charity committed to supporting children’s development through play located in Coolalinga.

The particular focus of this role will involve checking and repairing our damaged toys. If you enjoy DIY, woodwork and tinkering to get things back to their original condition this volunteer position might suit you.

We're hoping to find a volunteer that has their own tools but we will provide any extra parts needed to repair the toys.

Tasks and Responsibilities

- Visiting the toy library to collect damage toys
- Checking each toy to see if it can be repaired
- Advising toy library staff if parts need to be ordered for repair or if it isn't fixable

Skills and Experience

- Comfortable working with tools
- Confident fixing and repairing eg, you might have experience with woodworking or electrical repairs

Time Required

The role is flexible but you will need to have time to visit the toy library during our opening hours at least once a month to collect the damaged toys.

Opening hours

- Wednesday: 12.00pm - 5.00pm
- Thursday: 9.00am - 1.00pm
- Friday: 9.00 - 4.00pm
- First Saturday of the month: 9.00am - 12.00pm

Training

You will be provided with a short, informal induction session and tour of the toy library and guidance on our repair policies.
