We are seeking an exceptional Executive Assistant to provide high level support to senior executives within a fast paced Commonwealth Government workplace. This is an opportunity for an experienced APS Executive Assistant who thrives in a dynamic setting, enjoys working at the executive level, and takes pride in delivering outstanding support to senior leadership.
This role requires someone who can anticipate the needs of executives, exercise sound judgement, manage competing priorities, and build trusted relationships across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high level executive support to senior executives and SES leaders.
- Manage complex diaries, inboxes, meetings and travel arrangements.
- Prepare high quality briefing packs, agendas, correspondence and meeting papers.
- Coordinate executive meetings, including minute taking and action tracking.
- Liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders across government.
- Manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Monitor competing priorities and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Support governance processes and ensure follow up of executive actions.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement of executive support processes.
About You
You are a highly organised Executive Assistant who is proactive, adaptable and calm under pressure.
You understand the pace and expectations of supporting senior government executives and can work independently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
You will demonstrate:
- Previous Executive Assistant experience within the Australian Public Service or Commonwealth Government.
- Experience supporting SES officers or other senior executives.
- Outstanding diary, inbox and calendar management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management abilities.
- The ability to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to anticipate executive requirements.
- Strong proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite and government business systems.
Essential Requirements
- Previous Executive Assistant experience within a Commonwealth Government environment.
- Experience supporting senior executives, SES officers or equivalent.
- Minimum Baseline Security Clearance (must be current or active).
- Australian Citizenship.
