Your new Federal Government department plays a key role in delivering services and policy outcomes that support Australians. Due to restructures and staff movements, an opportunity has become available for an experienced APS4/5 Executive Assistant to join a high-performing team.
Your new role
As the Executive Assistant, you will provide high-level administrative and executive support to senior executives within a fast-paced government environment. You will be responsible for managing competing priorities, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the smooth operation of executive offices.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing complex calendars, meetings, and travel arrangements.
- Coordinating ministerial, parliamentary, and executive correspondence.
- Preparing meeting agendas, papers, and briefs.
- Monitoring and managing email inboxes and action items.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of executives.
- Tracking deadlines and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Providing general administrative support and contributing to team objectives.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your new role,
you will have previous experience in a similar role and in the Australian Public Service. You will also have:
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Solid attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
APS4 candidates will demonstrate strong administrative capability and the confidence to work independently. APS5 candidates will bring experience supporting senior executives and managing more complex stakeholder engagement and coordination activities.
To be considered for this role, you will need to be an Australian citizen and have a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
