Reporting to the Team Leader Health and Social Justice, we are seeking a motivated and community-centred health promotion practitioner to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine. Working in accordance with our values, the role has a strong focus on achieving the best outcomes to support the diverse health and wellbeing needs of the Brimbank community.

The role

The role will contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of health promotion and primary prevention initiatives that support our Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan and the Brimbank community. The role will apply health promotion principles, local evidence and partnership-based approaches to strengthen community health and wellbeing outcomes, with a focus on prevention, intersectional equity and the social determinants of health:

Contribute to the development of the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan actions and initiatives across the organisation, and their monitoring and evaluation.
Deliver health promotion and primary prevention initiatives that support the health and wellbeing priorities identified in We Are Brimbank – Integrated Community Vision 2050,



Council Plan and Health and Wellbeing Plan 2025-2029.
Embed monitoring, evaluation and learning to cultivate change and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve collective impact and inform organisational policy and practice.
Participate in forums and networks to inform best practice approaches.

Provide advice and inform organisational policies and practice to support health and wellbeing.

To be considered you will have

A tertiary qualification in community development, health promotion or a related discipline and/or significant experience in community development and health promotion.
Proven experience in initiating, managing and evaluating health promotion projects and activities.
Ability to manage and sustain partnerships and networks with a range of service providers through a collective impact approach.
Highly developed interpersonal skills, incorporating verbal and written communication with excellent listening, facilitation and liaison skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and autonomously to meet outcomes within identified timelines.
Current and satisfactory Police Records Check.
Current and satisfactory Working With Children Check.

Desirable current or former experience in local government.
