Our client, a well-known FMCG manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the safe, disciplined and commercially effective delivery of a complex manufacturing transition program. This is a highly confidential and evolving assignment, coordinating SKU and production capability transfers across sites, stabilising operations post-transfer, optimising residual operations and managing approved asset and infrastructure workstreams.
Working closely with the Group leaders, GM Operations, Head of PMO and site leadership, you'll partner across Safety, Operations, Supply Chain & Planning, Quality, Engineering, Finance, People and Commercial teams to establish robust governance, manage complex interdependencies and deliver on business continuity, customer service, safety, quality, cost and timing outcomes.
About the role
- Develop and maintain an integrated master plan covering SKU transfers, inventory build, customer and supplier dependencies, engineering activities, asset plans and financial outcomes
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of SKU and production capability transfers, including cutover, ramp-down and stabilisation plans
- Coordinate approved changes to production lines, utilities, infrastructure and operating footprints, including asset lifecycle workstreams (condition assessment, preservation, relocation, sale, disposal, decommissioning and site reinstatement)
- Identify and manage operational, customer, safety, quality, supply, people, financial and reputational risks, with robust contingency planning
- Build and manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow and benefits tracking, while proactively addressing cost variances
- Provide clear, evidence-based reporting to governance forums and the Executive Leadership Team
- Build trusted relationships across other sites, influencing senior leaders and technical specialists without relying on direct authority
- Maintain strict confidentiality throughout, ensuring sensitive information is shared only through authorised channels
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
- 5-6+ years' project or program management experience, including complex manufacturing, product transfer or operational transformation projects
- Experience managing plant, equipment, infrastructure, commissioning, decommissioning, relocation or asset disposal workstreams
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, engineering, quality, safety, procurement and financial management
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and external contractors in a matrix environment
- Experience preparing executive-level governance reporting and managing complex risks, budgets and critical paths
- High discretion and sound judgement when handling commercially sensitive and confidential information
This is a rare prospect to lead a high-profile, complex transition program with direct exposure to senior executives, in a role that will genuinely test and grow your project leadership capability.
