Instrument Commissioning and Start Up Technician
The Instrument Commissioning and Start Up Technician is responsible for delivering a high quality, consistent and competent service in accordance with project/company requirements, standards and procedures to support overall delivery of company goals and schedule.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with site cardinal safety rules and all safety aspects in work execution.
- Follow procedures and permits safely.
- Commission, troubleshoot and repair MCCs, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, flow transmitters, temperature transmitters, fire and gas equipment, control valves, on/off valves, solenoids, and control monitoring equipment end to end.
- Inspect, test, adjust and commission equipment to satisfy governing standards.
- Work within OEM guidelines.
- Demonstrate high‑quality fault‑finding skills and ability to troubleshoot autonomously.
- Observe and supervise vendor staff working on or near the facilities as required.
- Carry out Cause and Effect Testing.
- Carry out calibration of equipment as required.
- Carry out loop testing from control system to field device.
- Attend system walkdowns.
- Complete rectification works as required.
- Close out punch items.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role,
a Cert III in Instrumentation Craft and proven expertise. They must hold an EEHA Certification, possess a current First Aid Certificate and LV Rescue, and ideally have nationally accredited training in Working at Heights. A current Full or Restricted Queensland Electrical Licence is also required.
