Sous Chef
The Taylor Group is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to help manage all aspects of the kitchen operations at our popular holiday venue the Barwon Heads Hotel.
Situated on the stunning Bellarine peninsula, only 20 minutes from the Geelong CBD, we aim to set a new standard of service and cuisine at the Barwon Heads Hotel.
We are seeking a person with progressive ideas about food across a range of cuisines to help lead our Barwon Heads Hotel kitchen team which is part of a locally owned hotel group that consists of Grovedale Hotel, Barwon Heads Hotel and the Torquay Hotel.
Experience in high volume kitchens will be considered an advantage.
Our Sous Chef will be committed to the hotel over the peak seasons, but will also enjoy a excellent work life balance in this beautiful part of the world.

Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to -




Ensuring quality food across the entire venue for regular service and functions
Assist in managing food costs and meeting budgets
Food Safety and OH&S;
Menu development and designing special seasonal offerings
Ordering and management of food, including checking quantity and quality of products received
Monitoring and maintenance of stock
Working closely with key managers to design menus for functions as required
Minimum of 4 years experience in a similar roll
Determining production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of service and coverage
Training and development of kitchen team
