The Opportunity As a Career Medical Officer, you will provide comprehensive inpatient medical care under the supervision of Specialist Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs).
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Conducting comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinationsManaging inpatient care plans and documenting clinical findingsOrdering and interpreting investigationsPrescribing medications and initiating appropriate treatmentsResponding to Medical Emergency Team (MET) callsCoordinating patient transfers where requiredLiaising with Specialists, General Practitioners,



Allied Health and nursing staffParticipating in discharge planning from admission through to dischargeCounselling patients and their families regarding treatment plansParticipating in clinical handovers, quality improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary meetingsPerforming procedures within your scope of practice
Procedural Skills The successful candidate will be confident in a range of core procedural skills including:
Venepuncture and intravenous cannulationAirway managementCardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)DefibrillationIntramuscular injectionsSafe administration of intravenous medications and fluidsBlood product administrationSuturing, wound care and bandagingNasogastric tube insertionUrinary catheterisation
