About the role

Gas Detection Australia is seeking a Service Technician to join our growing team in Toowoomba, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and servicing our gas detection equipment for clients across Australia and the Globe.
As a Service Technician, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that our customers' safety equipment operates at optimal performance levels. Your work will be essential in protecting lives and maintaining regulatory compliance for businesses that depend on reliable gas detection systems.

This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with advanced technology whilst providing exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

- Perform scheduled maintenance, calibration, and testing on gas detection equipment for both commercial and industrial clients
- Respond promptly to service calls and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions in the field
- Conduct safety inspections and compliance checks in accordance with relevant standards and regulations
- Document all service activities, maintenance records, and technical findings in a timely and accurate manner
- Install new gas detection equipment at customer sites and provide technical training where required
- Diagnose faults and determine appropriate repair or replacement solutions
- Maintain service records and manage inventory of parts and equipment
- Communicate technical information clearly to customers, ensuring their understanding of equipment operation and safety procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share feedback on equipment performance and customer needs

What we're looking for

- Strong understanding of gas detection systems, safety protocols, and relevant regulatory standards
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment




- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think logically and independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation
- Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical customers
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites across the Australia and Overseas.
- Physical fitness and ability to work safely in various environments, including confined spaces where required
- Customer service orientation and qualified demeanor
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with industry best practices
