Description

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our small, hands-on finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller.
This is a genuinely broad role: you'll manage accounts payable and receivable, run our weekly retail payroll end-to-end, and support month-end close and BAS preparation.
About the role
Accounts payable and receivable, including vendor and customer reconciliations, payment runs, and query resolution
Running end-to-end weekly payroll across the Akubra retail network, including PAYG, superannuation, and WorkCover compliance
Interpreting and applying the General Retail Industry Award and individual employment contracts




Bank reconciliations and AP AR balance sheet reconciliations
Supporting the annual audit process and ad-hoc audit requests
About you
Demonstrated bookkeeping or accounts experience using Xero or similar accounting software
Demonstrated payroll experience processing multi-site payroll for Award-covered employees
A solid grasp of accounting principles, compliance requirements, and privacy obligations
Comfort juggling competing deadlines
Experience with Dext or similar software
A Certificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping or Accounting is desirable but not essential
