Medical Receptionist – Full-Time (Maternity Leave Cover) → Ongoing Part-Time

About the role

We're looking for someone to cover maternity leave full time for approximately 6 months, with the role transitioning to ongoing part-time after that. It's a fantastic opportunity if you want some job security now and flexibility down the track.

We're also open to considering two part-time roles instead of one full-time position — one temporary part-time role covering the initial ~6 months, and one ongoing part-time role. Let us know in your application if you'd prefer to be considered for a part-time arrangement.

Hours

- Full-time Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm (38 hrs/week) for the first ~6 months,



transitioning to ongoing part-time; OR
- We will also consider two part-time positions (one temporary, one ongoing). Days negotiable

What you'll be doing

- Welcoming patients and handling front-desk enquiries, in person and over the phone
- Booking and managing appointments using Best Practice Software
- Processing Medicare, DVA, WorkCover, TAC and private billing
- Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, referrals, and resultsKeeping patient records accurate and up to date
- Supporting our GPs and nursing team with day-to-day tasks
- Helping keep reception running smoothly — filing, supplies, tidying up

About you

- Previous experience in a medical receptionist or similar administration role is preferred, but not required
- Is confident using computers and comfortable with medical practice software
- A calm, friendly and approachable
- Great multitasking skills
- Respect for patient privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable, punctual, and easy to get along with
