Blackroc is seeking an experienced APS6 DevOps Engineer to join a large Federal Government technology team delivering up-to-date digital platforms and services that support millions of Australians.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale applications, contributing to the design, development and optimisation of cloud-native solutions while driving DevOps best practices and continuous improvement across the software delivery lifecycle.

As a DevOps Engineer, you'll work within a collaborative Agile delivery team, building and supporting modern applications, APIs and CI/CD pipelines. You'll play a key role in improving platform performance, automating deployment processes and developing tools that enhance the developer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs supporting enterprise applications.
- Build and maintain real-time dashboards to monitor application performance and user metrics.
- Develop scripts and automation to streamline development and operational processes.
- Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Integrate applications with tools including GitLab, Jira and Microsoft Teams.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and support resolution during Agile delivery cycles.
- Contribute to platform performance optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with developers, testers, product owners and technical stakeholders.
- 2-3+ years' experience developing full-stack applications using Node.js and modern front-end frameworks such as React, Vue.js or Next.js .
- Experience implementing and supporting RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience with GitLab , Jira and Visual Studio Code .
- Experience developing application monitoring dashboards and performance metrics.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

- Experience building, maintaining and monitoring GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and accessible application design.
- Experience implementing intelligent CI/CD automation or AI-assisted development workflows.
