We are partnering with an established passenger transport operator to appoint an experienced Workshop Manager to lead their maintenance operations in Kyneton. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced heavy vehicle skilled to take ownership of fleet reliability, workshop performance, and team leadership within a safety-focused transport environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Depot Manager, the Workshop Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance workshop, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable servicing, repair, and upkeep of a heavy vehicle fleet. You will lead a team of maintenance professionals, coordinate workshop activities, drive continuous improvement, and ensure fleet availability meets operational requirements.

- Lead and coordinate workshop operations, maintenance activities, and daily priorities
- Manage, coach, and support a team of maintenance personnel
- Oversee servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs
- Ensure fleet reliability, compliance, and operational readiness
- Monitor workshop performance, productivity, and quality standards




- Manage safety practices and ensure WHS compliance across the workshop
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and fleet documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, and workshop performance
- Liaise with operations teams to prioritise repairs and minimise vehicle downtime

About You To be successful, you will have:

- Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent
- Proven experience managing or supervising a heavy vehicle workshop environment
- Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance systems and workshop practices
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing maintenance teams
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence
- Current driver’s licence (heavy vehicle experience highly regarded)
