Goosies Sports and Rec Club Position Title: Bar & Bistro Manager Company: North Mackay Bowls Club Inc (trading as Gooseponds Sports & Recreation Club) Location: North Mackay, QLD 4740 Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 per annum + superannuation Employment type: Full-time About the role Gooseponds Sports & Recreation Club are looking for an experienced Bar & Bistro Manager for an immediate start. This position is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week, based in North Mackay, QLD.

The Bar & Bistro Manager will ensure customers experience high-quality bistro products and service in a qualified and timely manner, and exercise patron care. The Bar & Bistro Manager works in consultation with the Head Chef on style and presentation, and in accordance with all relevant regulatory guidelines.

- Lead and manage the bistro and bar team, including rostering and wage control.
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations, hygiene standards and licensing laws.
- Manage and oversee the delivery of efficient, high quality customer service.
- Monitor product quality and uphold Food Safety Standards and hygiene practices.
- Maintain a safe workplace and environment for customers, contractors and staff.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and front of house staff to manage food preparation and presentation.




- Plan menus in consultation with the Head Chef and introduce current specials and menu items in line with current trends.
- Plan and organise special functions and events.
- Arrange the purchasing and pricing of goods in line with budget.
- Maintain records of stock levels and financial transactions.
- Ensure dining facilities comply with health and safety regulations and are clean, functional and presentable.
- Confer with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service.
- Select, train and supervise wait and kitchen staff.
- Take reservations, greet guests and assist with taking orders.
- Report to the Operations Manager

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required

- A minimum Diploma qualification in hospitality, or at least 3 years' full-time experience in a restaurant or bistro managerial role within the hospitality industry
- Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate (LLD)
- HACCP Certification
- Current First Aid certificate
- Knowledge in Associations Incorporations Act, Customer Service Principles, Workplace Health and Safety Act, Food Act, Liquor Act
- Customer Liaison, Excellent communication
- Managerial skills, Human/Interpersonal Relations
- Accurate cash handling and balancing
- Professional/trustworthy, Punctual/reliable/dependable, Leadership/assertive
- Well spoken, courteous, self-motivated, positive and enthusiastic
