At Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS), we're working alongside our local communities to deliver the specialist mental health and alcohol and other drug care they need, when and where they need it most. By building strong partnerships across our region and maintaining close links with other specialised mental health services, we provide connected, recovery-focused care that makes a real difference. Supporting people across Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gladstone, Biloela, Moura, Woorabinda, the Central Highlands and Central West, our multidisciplinary teams are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve.

About the role

Deliver culturally responsive mental health and social and emotional wellbeing services, including prevention, early intervention, health education and health promotion activities for individuals, families and communities. Build strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, supporting self-determination and community-led approaches to health and wellbeing. Facilitate access to specialist mental health services by providing advocacy, education, support and liaison between clients, families and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Collaborate with community organisations, government agencies and key stakeholders to develop and improve integrated health programs that promote positive outcomes and strengthen community capacity.

About you

It is a mandatory requirement to hold or be willing to obtain, a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care and meet the genuine occupational requirement of being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.



If you do not hold the required qualification but have knowledge and skills required for the role, full financial support and paid study leave will be provided to complete the qualification within an agreed timeframe. It is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community. You're passionate about improving the mental health and social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through culturally secure, community-focused care.

What we offer

Total remuneration value of up to $117,787 p.a. is comprised of:

- An hourly rate between $39.00 - $52.06 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
