We are seeking a proactive and people-focused Human Resources Officer to join our People & Safety team. In this diverse role, you will provide practical HR support and advice across the organisation while helping leaders achieve their business objectives.
A key focus will be coordinating and developing Council's trainee, apprentice, cadet and work experience programs, supporting workforce capability and our commitment to growing local talent. You will also provide guidance on core HR matters, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and contribute to delivering high-quality people services across Council.
Benefits
- $82,308 - $87,354 p.a. + super + locality allowance
- Full Time + Monthly RDO
- 5 Weeks Annual Leave + 3 Weeks Personal Leave

About the Role
- Provide practical HR support and advice across the employee lifecycle to help achieve business objectives.
- Coordinate Council's Grow Our Own program, including trainees, apprentices, cadets and work experience participants.
- Collaborate with leaders to deliver HR initiatives, systems, processes and communications.
- Assist with the delivery of HR projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet quality standards.
- Support employee engagement and initiatives that strengthen Council's culture.
Skills & Experience
- Qualification in Human Resources (or a related field) or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to provide practical advice and support.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
- High attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
- Current Queensland Class C Driver Licence.
