Share Your Love of Gardening & Home Cooking

Make a Meaningful Difference in Someone’s Day

We’re looking for a kind-hearted volunteer to visit a friendly elderly lady who has been feeling a little lonely and would love the company of a friendly face.

She enjoys chatting about gardening and home cooking, hobbies she can no longer do herself but still loves to talk about. Your visit could bring companionship, stimulation, and plenty of joy to her day.

Some ideas for spending time together include:

- Looking through gardening magazines

- Talking about favourite plants, flowers, and garden memories

- Sharing recipes and cooking stories

- Potting a few plants together to brighten her space

- Enjoying a friendly chat over a cup of tea

A simple visit and conversation can make a world of difference, helping her feel connected, valued, and supported.

If you enjoy gardening, cooking, or simply spending time with others, this could be the perfect volunteer chance for you.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with.
