At Lives Lived Well, we’ve been supporting people impacted by alcohol and other drugs for over 50 years. As a values-driven organisation focused on clinical excellence and innovation, we’re growing fast - and we’d love you to be part of our journey.

Our Gladstone-based AOD Service supports individuals - both youth and adult - who are engaged in problematic substance use. We are looking for a passionate Alcohol and Other Drug Clinician to deliver Therapeutic AOD Intervention.

Your Opportunity

As an AOD Clinician you will work with a case load of clients who are wanting to overcome their problematic substance use. You will provide high quality engagement, assessment counselling and support services to your clients, using your experience in evidence-based practice principles that align with effective AOD therapeutic intervention.

This is part time fixed-term position until 30/06/2027; with a possibility of extension. The role is based at our office in Goondoon Street Gladstone. There are community outreach components to this role which can be discussed further.

The salary range is $92,000 - $99,000 (pro rata) plus Superannuation and Salary Packaging. The salary on offer will depend on the qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience of the successful candidate.

What we are looking for

Tertiary qualified (Social Sciences, Social Work, Psychology or relevant Diploma) you don’t need to have experience in this field – in fact we welcome new Graduates, but you must be passionate about working with both youth and adults in the Gladstone community and have the following skills and attributes:

- Demonstrated knowledge in AOD counselling practice complimented with contemporary evidence based AOD counselling practice, case management, intake, and assessment.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of CRM systems,

and the importance of maintaining accurate data
- Culturally safe and appropriate work practices, and ability to tailor your approach to a wide variety of people
- Engagement and rapport building skills – you will need to develop connections quickly
- Emotional maturity, patience, and resilience – there will be both positive and negative outcomes in this role
- Stakeholder engagement - maintaining relationships with local youth services is a key factor
- Knowledge of the local region is highly desirable

You will be tertiary qualified, hold an Australian Drivers License and current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).

Most importantly, you will be values-driven and aligned with ours:

- We are humble, human, and full of hope
- We show up and share
- We ask “why not” and “what’s next”?
- We leave a positive wake

Our benefits

Supported by a Team Leader who has a genuine open-door policy, you will be part of a team who foster a culture of reflective practice and learning from mistakes and enjoy democratic decision making, open communication and honesty.

As an organisation, Lives Lived Well offer a large range of benefits, which can be found on our website, but include:

- The opportunity to work out in the community – in the park, at the beach – and WFH options
- Five extra days paid leave per year to support your wellbeing (pro-rata for part time)
- Wellspring Discounts – save on everyday items including groceries, petrol, and leisure activities from over 360 retailers
- As an inclusive organisation, we are actively committed to continuous learning and improvement of our DEI initiatives
- An Employee Assistance Program for both you and your family
