About the Role

Reporting to the Construction Supervisor, Construction Superintendent and Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating day-to-day formwork and concrete activities on site.

This is a hands-on role where you will work alongside your crew while supervising staff, coordinating subcontractors, planning daily activities and ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

You will play an important role in maintaining productivity, mentoring team members and ensuring CivilPlus' quality, safety and environmental standards are achieved on every project.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise formwork and concrete crews on site.
- Plan and coordinate daily construction activities.
- Read and interpret construction drawings,



specifications and project documentation.
- Allocate work tasks and provide direction to site personnel.
- Coordinate labour, plant, equipment and materials to maximise productivity.
- Monitor work progress and report daily to the Construction Supervisor.
- Ensure all work complies with project specifications, company procedures and legislative requirements.
- Conduct toolbox meetings, site inspections and workplace audits.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Ensure inspections, testing and quality requirements are completed and documented.
- Maintain accurate project records, site registers and reports.
- Identify and resolve day-to-day site issues while communicating with supervisors and project management.
- Ensure plant, tools and equipment are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition.
- Mentor apprentices and team members while fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
- If you have the practical experience but need further training in the above elements this is not a concern as we will provide training and mentoring as needed.

About You

We're looking for a motivated Leading Hand who enjoys working in the field, leading by example and delivering quality civil construction projects.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

- Proven experience in formwork, concrete or structural concrete within the civil construction industry.
- Previous experience leading or supervising site crews.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.




- Robust understanding of quality, safety and environmental requirements.
- Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions on site.
- Commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Positive attitude with the ability to motivate and mentor others.

Essential Requirements

- Current Driver Licence.
- Trade qualification or a minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction industry.
- Demonstrated experience in formwork, concrete or civil construction.
- Relevant industry tickets and competencies.
- Ability to work safely and lead by example.
- Willingness to work on regional and remote projects when required.
- Pass a pre-employment medical with drug and alcohol test.

Desirable

- Previous Leading Hand or Supervisory experience.
- Experience in general civil construction, precast concrete, or major civil infrastructure projects.
- First Aid/CPR, Working at Heights, Confined Space, Dogman, Rigging or other relevant industry licences.
- Experience with project documentation, inspections and quality systems.
