Precision Doors & Shutters (PDS) is a locally owned and operated business specialising in the installation, maintenance and repair of industrial roller doors, shutters and automated access systems throughout the Pilbara.

We support major resource companies including Rio Tinto, Fortescue, Woodside and Mineral Resources, as well as industrial, commercial and residential clients across the region.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a mechanically minded Roller Door Technician, Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker to join our Karratha-based team.

No roller door experience is required. Full training will be provided to candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn a specialised trade.

About the Role

This is a residential Karratha-based role supporting clients throughout the Pilbara region.

While based in Karratha, technicians can expect to spend approximately 65-75% of their time working away on mine sites and regional projects across the Pilbara.

You'll work as part of a small, supportive team carrying out installation, maintenance, breakdowns and servicing on a wide variety of industrial access systems.

What You'll Be Doing

- Installation, maintenance and servicing of industrial roller doors and shutters
- Repairs and fault finding on automated access systems
- Working on:
- Industrial roller doors
- Sectional doors
- Rapid doors
- Industrial sliding doors
- Window shutters
- Aluminium grilles
- Gate automation systems
- Operable walls

- Preventative maintenance and breakdown response work
- Working across mining, industrial, commercial and residential environments
- Using hand and power tools
- Working safely at heights using EWPs and access equipment
- Delivering high-quality workmanship to major mining and industrial clients

Roster & Hours

- Monday to Friday
- No fixed roster
- Local Karratha work typically 8-12 hour days




- Remote site work generally 12-hour shifts
- Approximately 65-75% Pilbara travel
- Camp accommodation provided when working away
- Occasional weekend work as required

Essential Requirements

- Current C Class Driver's Licence - with no restrictions
- White Card.
- Working at Heights (WAH).
- High Risk Licence (WP and LF) preferred
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work away for extended periods.
